General Information:  Katherine is a Sivananda Yoga trained teacher. I attended the Sivananda Yoga Centre in Putney, London for many years. I have also been a student of the teachings of Dr George King, a Western Master of Yoga, since 1992. I have been teaching Yoga since January 2005.  I practice Yoga daily and I teach a range of abilities from beginners to intermediate, from very flexible people to people with physical restrictions, chronic illnesses and elderly people.

Yoga, if practised regularly can help with physical flexibility and strength. Most people feel so good after their first class that they want to come back again. Yoga is mentally uplifting,  calming and is very good for balancing symptoms of stress.

If you are currently seeing an osteopath, chiropractor of physio therapist Yoga can be a very good complement to these kinds of treatments, for ongoing physical injuries or strains, as it helps to loosen tension in the body and mind.

Feedback from Yoga classes:
"I don't feel pressured or hurried. It is within my limits, I am not afraid because I am being sensitively, intelligently and respectfully handled."JM Devon

"I feel  helped physically and mentally."   SD Devon

" When I first started at Katherine's yoga classes I had a very painful shoulder which had little or no mobility. After a few months of yoga my shoulder had improved immeasurably. Thank you, Katherine!    AC Combe Martin

"I am building up good physical strength and feel that my body is becoming nicely toned rather than muscly. I am finding that I deal with some situations more rationally because I can relax my mind prior to responding rather than leaping into things. I'm so glad I decided to take up yoga. I thoroughly enjoy it and am feeling the benefits."  JD Devon

"Yoga has helped me with my health, fitness and flexibility and it's changed my body shape"

ONGOING KARMA YOGA RETREATS

Retreats that can change the world. These retreats are facilitated by Katherine Armitage and Stewart Johnston. Join us at any time for a weekend, a week or a few days.  If you would like to make an in depth study of the 'Yoga of Service'  or Karma Yoga as described by the Great Yogi's, these ongoing retreats will bring you a greater understanding of how to use the path of YOGA to serve humanity in very practical ways, in these troubled days when it is greatly needed.

Daily Cost: For bed and breakfast and meals, as mentioned in our 'ongoing retreats' section above, £49 per day.

The rest of the programme below is offered free as part of our commitment to spreading the teachings of the Great Masters of Yoga to help in the upliftment of mankind & to send out positive energy to the world

The inspiration for these retreats are the teachings of Dr. George King, an outstanding Western Master of Yoga and Swami Sivananda (1887-1963) a modern day saint whose motto was 'Serve, love, give, purity, meditate, realise'. He was the role model for the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta centres and his disciple Swami Vishnudevananda worked tirelessly to bring these Yoga Centres into being. Our inspiration, naturally, also comes from the Great Master Jesus who taught the path of Love & Service to humanity.
Katherine, Stewart & Jeanne-Claire are all students of the Teachings of Yoga of Dr George King who passed away in 1997  www.aetherius.org
Dr George King knew how to raise the great power of Kundalini, located at the base of the spine, to higher chakras to attain the highly elevated state of Cosmic Consciousness, this state He defined as 'Meditation,' any practices that led to this state were only stepping stones to true 'Meditation' in his eyes. He left a wealth of teachings which can be practically applied to resolve the only energy crisis on this planet , the spiritual energy crisis. Our mission is to introduce people to His legacy and study Hhis teachings to empower ourselves and others to work in spiritual ways to restore harmony on our planet.
Katherine & Jeanne-Claire are both trained Sivananda Yoga teachers www.sivananda.co.uk

Ongoing Karma Yoga programme:

Daily yoga practice including Dynamic Prayer.
Concentration and 'meditation' practice
( This is 'meditation' with a small 'm' not the highly elevated state mentioned above ) based on the teachings of Swami Sivananda and Dr George King. It is what George King  referred to as going into the stillness.
The study of yogic texts and recordings and their practical application.
Learning how to use yogic practices that invoke positive energy to contribute to the wellbeing of the Mother Earth, yourself and those who live on her immense nurturing body.
Sending healing to Friends and Family.
Receiving Healing.
Visits to our local Holy Mountain Holdstone Down, on Exmoor, charged with energy from The Master Jesus through George King at midnight on July 23rd 1958, to send out energy to our troubled world, your friends and family and other focal points using powerful Yogic practices.
A Daily Karma Yoga activity of your choice to contribute to the wellbeing of our community so that we can continue to spread these teachings.

The  Cranleigh House cleanse experience:

Cleanse retreat facilitator:

Katherine Armitage MLCHom trained in Homeopathy & Holistic Healing at Lakeland College www.lakelandcollege.co.uk
Katherine is an experienced homeopath, homeopathy lecturer & yoga teacher. My mentor, who has inspired me to run these detox retreats, is Peter Hinde www.bodyelectronics.co.uk

VENUE: Cranleigh House, High Street, Combe Martin, Devon EX34 0EP

To book please call: Katherine Armitage on: 01271 889325  m.07985928461    for more info see our cleanse slide shows on our detox week page

Who might want to do such a cleanse?
Our friend and mentor Peter says: ‘People usually end up seeing me as a last resort, so I know when the results come, there is often the feeling they could not have come any other way. One look down the toilet at a pan load of black rubbery mucoid plaque is usually enough for most people to realise why they needed to cleanse.”

Who might want to do this sort of a cleanse:

Richard Schulze, an infamous herbalist, who has helped thousands of people regain their health, notes that it is annoying to have such a huge range of in depth skills as a natural healer only to find that 80% of people find their symptoms gone after doing a thorough bowel cleanse.

The daily schedule is based on the core of the ‘Arise and Shine Cleanse’ of Richard Anderson who cured himself of advanced cancer using similar techniques:

The Shake
Psyllium husk (bulking fibre) and bentonite clay in 12oz of water. A thick drink of 2 great toxin absorbing substances.

The Herbs
3 capsules of a product called CHOMPER which has been designed to soften and loosen material impacted into the walls of the entire digestive system and it also seems to pull toxicity from the entire body through the gut wall. With 3 capsules of a product called HERBAL NUTRITION which is a range of high nutrient herbs which support the process of cleansing - things such as: kelp, irish moss, and alfafla.

The juices
The juices are freshly made from non-sweet seasonal vegetables such as celery, courgette, cucumber, spinach beet, fennel, kale and wheatgrass. Wheatgrass juice is so powerful that it ALONE has many testimonials to the recovery of health. These other vegetables provide the alkaline elements which are needed to help the body eliminate stored acids which are implicated in so many diseases. Each juice is taken with a dose of liquid organic colloidal minerals - a very powerful trace mineral supplement which ALONE has helped many people to visibly detox and recover a greater sense of well-being and health.

The Daily Schedule:
6:00am SHAKE psyllium & bentonite clay
7:30am HERBS and a liver flush/lemon & chili morning mousse, containing olive oil, lemon or grapefruit, cayenne, ginger and garlic.
9:00am SHAKE
10:30am HERBS and a  Green JUICE
12:00pm SHAKE
1:30pm HERBS & local walk
3:00pm LUNCH a delicious & appetizing variety of raw salad vegetables, sprouted pulses, raw seed pate, sauces and dressings
4:30pm HERBS
6:00pm SHAKE
7:30pm HERBS and a Green JUICE followed by a powerful probiotic drink full of live beneficial bacteria

Evenings: relaxation time, DVD’s on related & inspiring topics.

Daily afternoon walk to get the circulation going & enjoy this area of outstanding natural beauty.

An early night 9.30-10pm is suggested due to the nature of the programme

Daily Coffee Enema:
If you ever get invited to a naturopathic coffee bar - be warned, it may not be what you think! At some time during the day there will be a coffee enema. This is a well known technique for assisting the liver in its task of cleaning toxins from the blood. A powerful detox regime such as this is almost certainly going to make a person feel nauseous, headachy, emotional, extremely tired, unable to think straight and a host of other possible symptoms as old debris is shifting from the body. The coffee enema is powerful enough to make it possible to eradicate such symptoms very quickly and carry on with the detox to its maximal effect. The coffee enema is not optional! People have failed to complete such a powerful cleanse if they have been unwilling to do them.

Coffee enema testimonial: “The coffee enema was for me the most powerful healing experience I have ever had, I have introduced many people to coffee enemas since that time and I can’t think of anyone who has not benefited”. KA Devon.

Other Activities:

It is also a good idea for participants to get out and exercise, do hot and cold showering - to get the circulation going - the nutrients deeper into the tissues and the toxins out. An introduction to the cleanse will be given on the first evening to outline the programme. We also have a portable sauna.

YOGA

Other Therapies: Homeopathy Consultations with Katherine or Reflexology, Massage or Shiatsu Treatments will be available, from local selected practitioners, for a reasonable price to support you, please let us know in advance what you would like.

The Results:
Almost everyone on such a thorough regime passes quite a bit of dark green to black MUCOID PLAQUE - old rubbery material, shaped like the intestines. This may also be newer material produced during the cleanse, but none the less its expulsion from the body is accompanied by a feeling of relief and often an emotional release. There is quite often a spontaneous release of other areas of toxicity within the body - there can be chemical smells in the sweat, breath or stools for instance.

So many times people feel intense emotion arising for a few hours, then pass some mucoid plaque and the emotion dissipates. Generally, people would complete the cleanse and feel lighter, cleaner, more energetic, needing less food, less gripped by some of their emotional baggage. They could have had any number of physical symptoms come to the fore and then lessen in intensity. Some people make great changes in their lives that have been overdue - there is a letting go on all levels. This is likely to be a fairly long term change, although more work may need to be done to get further and deeper results.

For others it is possible to feel other symptoms arising that have previously been suppressed, and although there is a release from the body, and an increase in health to get to such a place, more work needs to be done over time to release these symptoms on a physical and emotional level. It is quite common for people to feel all sorts of emotional disturbances after such a cleanse - things that have been buried for years come closer to the surface, and so on going physical and emotional work is always a bonus.
Peter, our mentor who has run these weeks for many years has not seen such a cleanse greatly help people with metal toxicity symptoms - giving rise to multiple sensitivities, autoimmune disease and allergies, for example someone with sensitivity to mercury from dental fillings and vaccines or, who knows they have a metal allergy, as well as other sensitivities. Although it can be an important release for such people, if metals are the main underlying cause of illness then other work needs to follow up or precede a cleanse such as this.

Is this the end of all cleanses?
No. You can carry on doing this sort of detox at intervals and still get further results. You can do other types of cleanse targeted to liver, kidneys, metals, or parasites. This route is a fundamental support to all other therapies.

 Essential Information:

The number of participants varies but the maximum is 6 people.

This retreat takes place in the supportive & homely environment of Cranleigh House, run as a Healing Centre in the 1960’s Cranleigh House is a large comfortable Bed and Breakfast with a ‘healing tradition’. We are not a luxury spa!  Our large kitchen is a happy place.  Everyone, on a rota system, helps to prepare and clear away lunch, which is all part of the learning and healing process. It is a good time to connect with the other people in the group and usually leads to some fascinating discussions and information sharing. It is also the way to learn thoroughly about all the elements of the cleanse so that you can repeat the process at home. Juices are prepared for you.

Each cleanse retreat is unique to the people who attend. You are likely to be joining a group of like minded individuals sharing similar goals, consideration of other people on the week helps everything to flow smoothly.

Preparation:  Please contact us for advice on how to prepare or see our detox page.

Further support:   If you would like support after the cleanse week telephone consultations can be arranged with Katherine at a rate of £1 a minute for as many minutes as you choose. ‘The detox is what I wanted (based on my previous experience of a detox). It was more intensive in some ways, which was a little daunting to begin with but I soon became very comfortable with. It was a pleasure sharing the company of so many wonderful & caring people, all with a common purpose. All in all, the start of something really beneficial’. GD Sunderland.

My time doing the cleanse with Katherine, Stewart and Peter has been unexpected in so many ways. The first surprise is that I didn’t get any severe physical reactions, and discovered that cleansing can be an enjoyable process….. The other treatments available have facilitated those of us who wanted, to take the detox to a deeper level, leaving me feeling both physically and spiritually lighter. The overall experience has been a combination of a cleanse, an education in health and nutrition and a holiday in beautiful Devon countryside. ML London

It has been wonderful to feel my creative urges bubbling up – I have written a long overdue newsletter which will go out on Monday.

The week has fed my soul – with time to meditate, interesting people, and the stunning walks. It has been easy to feel a great sense of peace here.

AJ Cambridgeshire

This was the best week yet.   Your attention to everyone’s needs never ceases to amaze me.  The company, the good walks, the food compensate for those horrible drinks that one could so easily give up on. AD Bristol

Feedback from Katherine’s Homeopathic tutorial groups:

For me your tutorials have been an incredible exploratory space which has helped me and I feel everyone in the group to personalise their own form of homeopathy. It is place where I feel I have brought together and consolidated my thoughts feelings and knowledge so that I really own it. I love that you have the versatility to allow the tutorial to roam onto new and often challenging territory and that you are able to bring the whole group on the journey. I have really enjoyed being able to explore things in such depth and to integrate the experiences and insights of the group with my own and this has added an additional dimension to my learning. I also really appreciate the way in which you incorporate and enable us to incorporate other disciplines and seemingly disparate elements of our lives into our understanding of homeopathy.

In addition to that, which ever group I have come to has always felt welcoming and inviting, at once full of energy and ideas and relaxed.

Thank you. Catherine. London

With regards to your tutorial groups, I have found them really useful this year. You were very supportive through my crisis of faith in homeopathy and helped me to see that it was perfectly normal at that stage of the course and that it would pass with time (which it did). You gave me some excellent advice and information when I discussed my cases in the group and your pointers were duly used and helped move each case along. I have found you to be unbiased and sensitive in your comments and opinions, and also a source of seemingly unlimited knowledge! I think that you are also great at allocating time fairly and equally to the members of the group.

Your chairmanship ensures that all students feel at ease and able the benefit from contributing, listening and reflecting.
I have never felt pressured or inadequate and your obvious love of homeopathy is inspiring.
Iinitially I was disappointed that I was the only 1st year student but within a few months I began to feel confident.
I have chosen you again for year two as I am sure I will continue to benefit and grow.

"Perfect weekend for anyone who really wants to face their demons. Thanks Peter for holding the space & the process so well. Fantastic to eat well, sleep well & process profoundly"

"This weekend is a spring board that has brought much yearned for impetus into my life and thanks to the glimpse of freedom and joyous lucidity provided I am able to embrace experience -the experience that is life- with renewed zeal and with well founded enthusiasm. To Katherine and Stewart - it was the consistency of your hospitality and your attention, followed by dedication to all wants great and small that I most admired. It was a dear pleasure to visit an area so charged with inspiration and beauty; and a lot of fun being part of a group of kind hearted people. Lastly thanks and respect to Peter for all that he has shown me. Best Wishes All Ways" -JM Ireland

"Thank you Katherine & Stewart for your thoughtfulness in taking care of us. The course, what can I say, I hope I never lose the new concept of awareness and of the ability to love, which I have gained & only hope I can expand on that from the small perception, which I have... Peter, I thank you for the wonderful light you illuminate & in you sharing it, I hope one day I will be able to do that too every day." -DB Bristol
